Is Flexible Flatfoot Normal

Parents often worry about their child’s flexible flatfoot – a condition where there is lowering of the arch of the foot on weight bearing; but the arch gets restored on tip toeing or dorsi-flexion of the big toe.
They should be made aware that Flexible Flatfoot is Normal in infants, Usual in children and Common in adults.

Flexible flatfoot is not abnormal, does not require any special footwear (except in very special circumstances) and are best treated with foot exercises.
