Septic Arthritis in Neonate

This week we look at apparent paralysis from voluntary inhibition of motion due to pain, in-coordination or other causes, without actual paralysis.

Think of septic arthritis first in an NICU graduate with pain in the hip with pseudoparalysis. Investigate preferably with MRI to confirm and rule out concurrent osteomyelitis.
